What is LMS?
A learning management system (LMS) is a type of eLearning software designed to help you create, manage, deliver, and assess training courses and L&D programs. These programs are conducted online, although they can be accessed offline from mobile devices with downloaded content.
When was LMS launched at IUM?
The Centre for Distance and e-Learning (CDeL) was established in 2021 to address the evolving needs of students and leverage technological advancements in education. Our mission is to deliver flexible, accessible, and high-quality educational opportunities to students around the globe.
The Centre’s main objective is to make university education accessible to all in Namibia and beyond (including SADC and the world at large). The Centre leverages the university e-Learning platform (IUM -LMS), Multimedia technologies, and expertise to facilitate online teaching and learning.
Charles George is the Coordinator for the Centre for Distance and eLearning at the International University of Management. He has been with the Centre since 2022, initially serving as an Assistant Coordinator and Facilitator. His dedication to advancing online education and leveraging technology in learning environments has been pivotal in enhancing the Centre’s offerings and services.
